Fourth of July Fireworks and Festivities for the Waterbury Ct Area

We have a great weekend of festivities and parades in the Greater Waterbury Ct area scheduled.

Friday: July 1

Oxford CT: The Quaker Farms Fire Company Carnival continues tonight through Saturday at Quaker Farms School, 30 Great Oak Road, with fireworks tonight at 9:45. The event is open from 6 to 11 p.m. Come out for some fun, food and to support the efforts of the volunteer fire department

Sunday:  July 3

Bristol Ct: At Lake Compounce Theme Park they will set off fireworks for the Fourth of July weekend a day early, Sunday Night at 10:00 p.m. The park opens at 11 a.m. and rides will run until the fireworks start. Lake Compounce is the longest continuously running amusement park in our country. There is an admission charge to the park.

Waterbury CT: The Annual Fourth of July Holiday Fireworks will be at Municipal Stadium Sunday night at 1200 Watertown Avenue. The fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:15 PM. Prior to the fireworks display, a concert featuring Dave Gardino and Swing shift will perform. Gates at the stadium will open at 6:00 PM and admission is free. Rain date for fireworks will be Monday.

Monday:  July 4

Middlebury CT: Quassy Amusement Park will hold its annual 3-D fireworks display starting at 10:15 p.m. Viewing glasses will be sold for $1 on at Quassy to benefit Prevent Blindness Tri-State. The lakeside park opens at 11 a.m. and rides will run until the show begins. Parking is $7.

Naugatuck Ct:The Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Fourth of July fireworks display at Naugatuck High School, 543 Rubber Ave.
Music will be provided by a DJ from 6-9:30 p.m. Ronald McDonald is tentatively scheduled to be at the school from 7-7:45 p.m. and Prinkles the Clown will be there from 8-9 p.m.

The fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m.

The Naugatuck Community Choir will run a food booth with hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks, soda, water and glow jewelry. Donations are still being accepted. They can be sent to the 4th of July Fund, Naugatuck Savings Bank, 251 Church St., Naugatuck 06770.

Thomaston CT: Resident Mary S. Reynolds will lead the 45th annual Children's Parade on Old Northfield Road. More than 300 children are expected to dress up and decorate their bikes in patriotic colors. Lineup is on Perritt Drive at 10:30 a.m. and the parade steps off at 11 a.m. Parade marshal this year is Conner Bergston, 5. Reynolds will host a short ceremony after the parade with patriotic songs, cookies and soda.

The annual fireworks display will be July 9 at the Pent Road Complex. Shuttle services will be available starting at 6:30 p.m. from Woodland High School and the fire house. Fireworks begin about 9:15 p.m. Food and entertainment will be available.
